Following a distinguished career at Abbey, including appointment to the Board, Ian Clarke joined Marsh in mid-2007 as Head of Operations for Marsh's Continental Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEMEA) region. In late 2007 he was appointed UK Transformational Leader to drive several key strategic projects in the revitalisation of the UK business. These included major programmes to boost efficiencies and improve expense management, in addition to the outsourcing of the company's UK Operations activities, involving some 650 employees, to a third party.
